Welcome to the Friends of Carpenter Green Park

Carpenter Green Park opened its gates to the community in 2020.  The park is maintained by the Friends of Carpenter Green Park, an all-volunteer nonprofit organization, with support from Philadelphia Parks & Recreation.

Located in the Graduate Hospital neighborhood of Philadelphia, the park boasts an ever-increasing number of native plants, a misting pergola, a dog-friendly area, and a Little Free Library.

Our mission is to preserve, support, and grow the sustainability of the park for the entire community and future generations.  We believe that urban parks promote community well-being and contribute to a more vibrant, equitable city.

The city of Philadelphia utilizes Friends' groups to maintain most neighborhood parks.  The Friends of Carpenter Green Park (FCGP) manages necessary maintenance, hosts events, and helps keep the park a safe, clean, and inviting space on a daily basis.  Philly Parks & Rec supports FCGP with trash/recycling removal and biweekly lawn mowing (during the summer season).

FCGP is a group of dedicated neighbors from the community that love the park and care about spreading the joy of natural urban oases.  Anyone can join and we are always looking for new members!

We meet quarterly and host a few events throughout the year, including the biannual Love Your Parks.  Email us to get connected today!

Supporters are integral to sustaining the work and mission of FCGP. For only $20 a year, you can be a sustaining supporter of FCGP.

At higher supporter levels we offer engraved bricks to be placed on the park walkways.

FCGP hosts a few events throughout the year.  Click here to find upcoming events from FCGP.

The park is public and anyone is free to use it.  Certain activities may require a permit approved by the city of Philadelphia.  Check here to see if your event may need a permit.

Membership is an easy and impactful way to show your support for the park.  Annual membership is only $20 and requires no other commitment!

There are many ways that individuals or organizations can become a sponsor.  From getting a custom engraved brick placed on the park walkways, to sponsoring a bigger project, sponsors are essential support for the park Friends'.
