Welcome to the Friends of Carpenter Green Park
Carpenter Green Park opened its gates to the community in 2020. The park is maintained by the Friends of Carpenter Green Park, an all-volunteer nonprofit organization, with support from Philadelphia Parks & Recreation.
Located in the Graduate Hospital neighborhood of Philadelphia, the park boasts an ever-increasing number of native plants, a misting pergola, a dog-friendly area, and a Little Free Library.
Our mission is to preserve, support, and grow the sustainability of the park for the entire community and future generations. We believe that urban parks promote community well-being and contribute to a more vibrant, equitable city.
WHY DO WE NEED A FRIENDS GROUP?
The city of Philadelphia utilizes Friends' groups to maintain most neighborhood parks. The Friends of Carpenter Green Park (FCGP) manages necessary maintenance, hosts events, and helps keep the park a safe, clean, and inviting space on a daily basis. Philly Parks & Rec supports FCGP with trash/recycling removal and biweekly lawn mowing (during the summer season).
